Lost Dutchman's Days Carnival

Chris and I wanted to go on a family outing on Saturday. It was such a beautiful day and we wanted to take advantage of it because we all know that it is going to be way too HOT all too soon. So, we packed up and went to a carnival in Apache Junction. Chris and his family used to attend the carnival when he was a young lad. It wasn't a huge affair...maybe a little bigger than a similar event would be in a mall parking lot. However, we had fun looking at the booths and watching people. Evelyn had wide eyes the entire time. I didn't really get the best pictures, but I snapped a few as we wandered about. All smiles!!

Chris and I found a booth that sold all kinds of deep-fried stuff including oreos, snickers bars, twinkies, ding-dongs, reeses peanut butter cups etc...We were disgusted, but intrigued at the same time. So, we forked over 4 bucks and got a deep-fried snickers bar. Oh holy moly...it was one of the most disgusting things I've ever put in my mouth. So gross! We each took 2 bites (just to make sure it was gross) and then tossed it. I wouldn't recommend eating one. It's just not right to mess with a candy-bar that is pretty much perfection on it's own.

We had a fun time...but decided to leave when most of the adults around us were acting a wee bit tipsy.
