CHRISTMAS EVE
2010
Chris, Evie and I went to Surprise, AZ on Christmas Eve to visit Grandma and Grandpa Peck. Luckily, Chris and I both had the day off, so we got to spend a lot of time there. When we arrived, the house smelled of turkey and all sorts of good food. Our mouths were watering in anticipation of the feast! My mom had planned to served dinner around 2 p.m. and so we didn't have long to wait. While we were waiting for the turkey to get done, Christopher and Evie spent some quality time on a big blanket in the family room.
My mom decked out the table with all sorts of fancy dishes. I LOVED the goblets and napkin ring holders. They made the table look so pretty!

All of the food was delicious. I made the ice-cream salad which looks weird but is delicious. It's one of my favorite holiday foods and I look forward to it every year.
Ice Cream Salad (Green Jello)
1 pkg small lime Jello1 c. boiling hot water
1 c. grated cheddar cheese (sharp best)
1 c. crushed pineapple- well-drained (otherwise the jell-o won't set-up)
1 c. chopped nuts
1 pint vanilla ice cream
Dissolve Jello in 1 c. hot water. Stir till no granules can be seen. Stir in ice cream till melted. Add rest of ingredients. Pour into mold and set.
When Evelyn woke up after a significantly long nap, we changed her into her Christmas pajamas. (Christopher and I have made it a tradition to open one present on Christmas Eve, which just happen to be pajamas ;)). She was completely cute, cuddly and adorable!!

Before we headed home, we had to get pictures of the family to document the occasion. 'Twas a very fun night!

Merry Christmas Eve!

I love that tradition, my brother and I grew up getting pj's on Christmas Eve and we have carried that on with our boys. Evie is such a beautiful baby. I hope I get to see her sometime soon. Much love. xxoo
